Before a site goes back online

What We Check Before Reopening a Site

  • Core, theme and plugin files are compared against clean copies, and anything that does not belong is removed or explained. Admin accounts and scheduled tasks are listed and checked one by one.

Files and accountsNothing unexplained left behind
  • The way in is identified and closed, whether that was an outdated plugin, a reused password or an exposed file. If the cause cannot be confirmed, we say so in the report and harden every likely path.

Entry pointClosed, or flagged as unconfirmed
  • Google Search Console is checked for security issues, and a review is requested only after every listed issue is fixed on every page, as Google's own help asks. Forms, logins and checkout are tested by hand.
